Goals

1. The creation of a self-assessment tool which will be used by VET institutes to analyse to what extent they have the ability and means to implement a systematic and robust set of actions to enable digital transformation and enhance their digital maturity. This output will support wider recognition across the VET sector as to how approaches in creating or optimising their digital strategy, digital culture and the resources and infrastructure required to accelerate digital transformation, can support the delivery of quality and inclusive education through virtual means and support learners, teachers and trainers in adapting to online/distance learning.

2. The development of an Online Learning Programme that will be developed in line with the key areas highlighted through our pre submission research survey, as well as the key areas of development, as underpinned by the Institute of Innovation & Knowledge Exchange’s Digital Maturity Assessment model https://www.ikeinstitute.org/product/digital_maturity_assessment. The programme will be open and available to any VET practitioner who wants to develop skills and knowledge in; Digital Strategy & Leadership, Developing a Digital First Culture, Optimising Digital Skills and Capabilities, Data and Decision Making, Developing Collaborative Ecosystems and Digital Impact and Value. These areas are vital in accelerating digital transformation within VET institutes to improve education delivery and support for learners, teachers and trainers.

3. Best Practice Guide. The guide will provide practical guides to aid the design and implementation of systematic and robust actions to enable digital transformation and enhance digital maturity within VET institutes. These will include guides on Digital Strategy & Leadership, Developing a Digital First Culture, Optimising Digital Skills and Capabilities, Data and Decision Making, Developing Collaborative Ecosystems and Digital Impact and Value. All elements of the Best Practice Guide will be focused on how each element can support the delivery of quality and inclusive education through virtual means and support learners, teachers and trainers in adapting to online/distance learning.

4. Finally, the admic.eu platform. This open educational resource (OER) will enhance the awareness of using digital transformation to improve education delivery and support for learners, teachers and trainers and provide a single point of access to the Self-Assessment Tool (as detailed above), the Online Learning Programme, the Best Practice Guide and further information regarding the project.

With regards to intangible outcomes, we expect that the skills and abilities of 300 VET staff will be increased through undertaking the Online Learning Programme developed. In addition, the experience gained by the staff during and after the project will enrich their professional development and create an environment that encourages and accelerates digital transformation in VET institutes across the EU.

A further outcome will be an increased awareness amongst VET staff and the sector as a whole, in the range of systematic and robust actions available to them that enable digital transformation and enhance digital maturity, supporting the delivery of quality and inclusive education through virtual means and supporting learners, teachers and trainers in adapting to online/distance learning now and in the future.
