Miguel Altuna portal

In this section you will find all the information and documentation related to FP Dual that the FPII Miguel Altuna tutor may need.

Companies have an increasing need for qualified professionals to meet the demands of a changing market. In this context, vocational training makes a firm commitment to adapt its methodologies and contents to these needs to ensure the competitiveness of companies.

Miguel Altuna LHII’s knowledge of the competencies required for the performance is key to the success of the program.

Once we know the skills to be acquired, a good communication between Miguel Altuna LHII and the company and a good planning of the course will ensure that the proposed objectives are met.

First of all, the DUAL plan must be drawn up between the company’s instructor and the person responsible for tutoring at Miguel Altuna LHII.

This plan must then be approved by the Department of Education of the Basque Government.

(Ikusi kronograma).

The Miguel Altuna LHII educational center appoints a person in charge of tutoring among its teachers to program the training, together with the company’s instructor, and to monitor it at the workplace.

This person in charge of tutoring coordinates with the other teachers and with the person in charge of tutoring in the company where the students or trainees do their training. The objective of this coordination is to ensure that the students or trainees receive all the contents established in the training cycle.

CHARACTERISTICS of the person in charge of tutoring:

  • To know the students he/she trains well, thus being able to help the trainees fit in better with the companies.
  • To know well the contents of the training cycles in which he/she teaches and those of other degrees.
  • To have “commercial” skills to contact new training companies, visit them and maintain a close relationship with them.
  • To be an open and decisive person when faced with incidents or problems that may arise.
  • To be willing to keep up to date.
  • To have the motivation to act as a link between the educational center and the companies and to support interns and those responsible for company tutoring.
  • To know the business fabric of the area of the educational center or be willing to investigate it.

Your FUNCTIONS:

  • Determine the conditions of the generic training program.
  • To visit the surrounding companies.
  • To know the technological conditions of the company.
  • Study and agree on the specific training program for each person and company.
  • Agree with the person responsible for tutoring the company.
  • Training positions.
  • Program of activities.
  • Explain to the students the conditions of the company.
  • Tasks and jobs.
  • Occupational health and safety issues in the sector.
  • Introduce students to the company.
  • Periodically.
  • Visit the company (check the activities).
  • Receiving students at the educational center.
  • Tutorial action (difficulties, clarify doubts, etc.).

Three meetings (student + instructor + Miguel Altuna LHII).

In early June, the members of the DUAL will meet in the company to identify the educational results that will need to be exceeded or achieved, and to link the activities to achieve these results.Student’s track record. Instruments guardian.

Meetings between the student and the examiner.

During the course of the program, the company’s guardian and student will occasionally gather to study the occupations of the student/worker and to find solutions if any problems are identified.

These meetings will take place more often than the three (PDF) meetings.

Meetings between student and LHII guardian Miguel Altuna.
These meetings will take place at the workshop or at the Miguel Altuna LHII training center. These meetings shall focus on the level of skill acquired by the student and on how it can be improved. Skills defined and approved by the OCD in the Curriculum Display (OCD), for evaluation, shall be considered.

The company examiner and the guardian of the LHII Education Center, Miguel Altuna, will often be in touch, either by e-mail, telephone or meeting, for proper coordination.

Student’s track record. Tutor.

Professional Education is a standard already verified in other countries where the processes of teaching and learning are alternated in school and in business. The student body is evaluated for competencies and qualifications listed in the school as well as in the company.

Through the LH DUALE, the Working Group enables students to approach and enter the working world, the company has a more active role in providing training to future employees, thereby facilitating the employment of young people. After all, employment is a way of getting to know the world of work.

Shortened information (for companies).

The person responsible for mentoring in the company, i.e. the person responsible for the instruction, must assess the trainee-pupil according to the form established above together with Miguel Altuna LHII. To this end, the centre shall clearly indicate how the trainee is to be monitored.

The person responsible for the company’s instruction can either make the assessment directly on paper or digitally, or transmit it to the person responsible for tutoring at the educational centre during the follow-up meetings, and then have the person responsible for tutoring collect it in a document or in a file or on a computer platform.

At the halfway point of the stay, the mid-term evaluation form shall be filled in.

Whatever the form of assessment, the person responsible for the instruction will always have the support of the person responsible for tutoring at the educational centre, as it is that person who is responsible for transferring the assessment of the person responsible for tutoring at the company to a grading scale that will be included in the student’s file.

The assessment made by the person responsible for company tutoring must be taken into account in the assessment of the trainee-pupil. To this end, there must be transparency between the company and the educational centre, and the latter must properly transmit to the former the final results of the trainee and how it has included its assessment in these results.

In addition to assessing the knowledge related to learning the profession, the person responsible for the instruction is asked to observe and assess other types of competences and skills of the learner or trainee, such as: autonomy, initiative, organisation, teamwork, problem-solving skills, etc. It is necessary to carry out this monitoring several times during the stay in the company in order to be able to see the evolution of the student or trainee.

It is important that, in addition to assessing the learning outcomes and competences of the student or trainee, the person in charge of training in the company has a sheet to keep track of absences and delays, with justifications for these if necessary. It is necessary that communication between the company and the educational centre is fluid and they know that the trainee is regularly attending classes and the company.
